Church Planting and a Worship Pastor

What should a church planter look for in a worship pastor?  Three worship pastors answer in the following three videos.  Helpful stuff as it is some of the stuff that I’m processing through right now (HT: A29):

815 O Street

This past Saturday evening, I officially signed a lease for some gathering space at 815 O Street in downtown Lincoln.  This space will serve as the initial gathering space for 2 Pillars Church.

We see this space as God’s sure hand of providence as we were not originally looking to rent until the May of 2010 timeframe.  However, the location was perfect and the price was right so we jumped on it.  We will occupy the lower level of this building on a full-time basis.  The main level is currently serving as an underage dance club on Friday and Saturday nights (Club Red), the second floor is home to an ad agency (The Minnow Project), and the third floor is being renovated to create two condos.

Most recently, the main floor and lower level were occupied by a local music venue called Box Awesome.  Back in the day, this same space was home to a locally famous bar called Sweep Left.

The space itself is 4030 square feet and should allow for enough room for us to fit out a couple of office spaces in addition to a worship space with a seating capacity of roughly 140 people.  This space will thus serve us well until a day when we out-grow it.

The video below provides a little more of an idea of where the space is located.  I have added annotations to the video, but you might have to change to full-screen to see them.

Our temporary website is now up (2pillarschurch.com).  Currently it is just a splash page containing our logo and links to the Project 2 Pillars Blog, the 2PC Facebook Fan Page (forthcoming…currently it points to my personal page), and the 2PC Twitter Feed.  Thanks go out again to Jeff Nine at Studio Nine Creative for his help.
