Statement of Faith

2 Pillars Church is privileged to be a part of a church planting network called Acts 29 (www.acts29network.org) which has done an excellent job of applying orthodox, Reformation Christianity to the particular issues and questions of our day.

The Acts 29 doctrinal statement comprises the basic material for 2 Pillars Church’s Statement of Faith which now has a permanent home under the “Pages” section of this site.

March 28 Whiteboard Session Announcement

We Won a Website

A while back I got an email or a DM or something where someone pointed me to this Website Giveaway contest.  As a church planter, getting a full website up and running was on my near term radar and so I hopped over, plopped in my info in the blog comments and sent it off on its merry cyber-space way.  I had also heard of ekklesia360 before and was intrigued by the prospect of having a website created by them.

A couple of days ago, I got an email from Tim Schraeder informing that I had one!  The winner announcement then hit his blog yesterday here.  The goal is to have something up and live by June.  We’ll begin architecting and creating content for the new website in the next month or so.

An External Advisory Board

We believe that the biblical model of church government is that of a plurality of elders. We also believe in the local church functioning as a self-governing body. As a church plant, 2 Pillars Church was started with just one elder, Todd Bumgarner. It is our desire and our goal to move steadily, though not hastily, to a model of a plurality of three or more qualified local elders that have been called, identified, tested, trained and approved. Until that time, the eldership (initially, Todd Bumgarner) will be subject to the Advisory Board to provide accountability as well as counsel and encouragement.

The External Advisory Board for 2 Pillars Church consists of the following three men:

Makeover The 815

We need your help.  This Wednesday we are looking for folks to join us in making over The 815.  This is a work night where we intend to do a lot of painting, building (walls to create a couple of office spaces), and cleaning.  We’ll start at 6:30pm.  You can stay as long or as little as you like/need to.  We’ll provide all of the materials and tools, etc.  We just need your man/woman power.
