Weekend Information Sessions
This weekend I will be hosting two information sessions for Project 2 Pillars to raise interest in and support for 2 Pillars Church. The first will be Friday night (October 2nd) in downtown Omaha. The second will be Saturday night (October 3rd) in downtown Lincoln. If you have received an invitation to one of these events, please RSVP to let me know if you will be there. RSVP contact information was in the info I sent out to you.
If you have not received an invitation and would like to attend, please contact us via the “Contact Project 2 Pillars” link under Pages. These information sessions are primarily for folks I have not yet connected with and, as mentioned above, are primarily for the purpose of raising interest in and support for 2 Pillars Church.
Last A29 Bootcamp of the Year
The last Acts 29 Bootcamp of the year is set for November 10-11 at Sojourn Community Church in Louisville. The theme of the conference is Ambition. Here’s the promo info:
AMBITION. Simply knowing how to plant and lead a church is not enough. Knowledge must come hand-in-hand with God-given ambition. The Apostle Paul responded to God’s call to make the gospel known among the Gentiles with zealous determination. Paul, empowered by the Holy Spirit, made it his ambition to take the gospel to those who did not have it even if it cost him everything. He proclaimed the gospel, gathered believers into churches, established elders, and discipled believers; and he did all this with zeal and passion. In the hope of this type of ambition overflowing in the Church, we would like to invite you to the Acts 29 Network Ambition Boot Camp, November 10-11, 2009, which will focus on planting and leading churches with God-given ambition.

Preaching This Weekend
This Sunday morning I will be preaching at Summit Community Church here in O’Fallon. I will be preaching from Genesis 27:30-46. I am both excited and challenged by this passage.
After a solid Sunday afternoon nap, I’ll then be treking up to Hannibal to preach at Believer’s Church at 6pm on the topic of Why We Plant Churches. If you live in the Hannibal area or feel like making a road trip, BC-Hannibal meets at 1101 Broadway in the First Christian Church building.
Recommended Resource: Finding a Facility
A few things have stirred in the last week that have driven me to begin to think about facilities way sooner than I ever imagined. We’re a long way off from pulling the trigger on anything and to be truthful, we could still be six months away from locking anything down but nonetheless, some recent stuff got me thinking in this area.
As I did a bit of research, I came across this article on the Resurgence website called Finding a Facility. It is something that Driscoll wrote up a few years back and it provides some real good questions and categories/criteria to think through when trying to hone in on a facility. I offer it up as this week’s recommended resource.

Our temporary website is now up (2pillarschurch.com). Currently it is just a splash page containing our logo and links to the Project 2 Pillars Blog, the 2PC Facebook Fan Page (forthcoming…currently it points to my personal page), and the 2PC Twitter Feed.
