Makeover The 815

We need your help. This Wednesday we are looking for folks to join us in making over The 815. This is a work night where we intend to do a lot of painting, building (walls to create a couple of office spaces), and cleaning. We’ll start at 6:30pm. You can stay as long or as little as you like/need to. We’ll provide all of the materials and tools, etc. We just need your man/woman power.
Praying Tonight

Tonight, several of us will gather for prayer in a home here in Lincoln. Specifically, we’ll be praying through the values of 2 Pillars Church which we discussed at the last Whiteboard Session. As we gather to pray, I invite you to pray as well for the work that God has prepared for the people He is gathering to form the core group of 2 Pillars Church.
Pray that we would be embolden by the cross, enriched by grace, and passionate about God’s Kingdom as we gather together and seek His face.
Interns
As a new church plant, we’re taking on a few guys as unpaid interns. These are guys who have expressed interest in being deeply involved, invested, and committed to 2 Pillars Church and a couple of them are also guys who are seeking out church planting experience as they weigh their own call to plant or pastor a church someday down the road. Below is the process we use at 2 Pillars Church for developing internships:
- Guy/gal expresses interest in being an intern.
- Potential intern completes an application and returns it within two weeks.
- The completed application is reviewed.
- Material reviewed.
- References contacted.
- Background check run.
- Internship Interview is conducted.
- Application discussed; expectations discussed.
- Determination made by 2PC Leadership as to whether to proceed forward.
- A customized internship plan is developed in conjunction with a 2PC Staff Member.
- This plan lays out clear focus areas, objectives, and tasks based on the intern’s responses to questions on the application as well as the tangible needs of 2PC.
- Plan is reviewed with intern.
- Intern takes ownership of the plan, makes modifications and resubmits for approval if necessary.
It’s a simple process, but a process nonetheless that allows us to add structure and consistency to our identification of interns as well as the essential step of developing a customized internship plan for each intern. If you’re interested in learning more about the process, you can check out our Missional Intern Application.
Whiteboard Session Reminder
Our next Whiteboard Session will be this coming Sunday, 6pm at The 815. We’ll be unpacking the values of 2 Pillars Church this week. Please bring a dish to share and join us.
Gospel Community Leader Training
Gospel Communities (GCs) will be at the heart of who we are as 2 Pillars Church. Everything we do will flow in, through, and out of our Gospel Communities. As such, the leaders of these Gospel Communities play a critical role in our health as a body. We need strong men to step up and take on these leadership roles thus making a commitment to seeing the Gospel go forth in Lincoln.
This Sunday we will begin our Gospel Community Leader Training Sessions. This first session will be more of a high-level view of our Gospel Communities – what they are, what it means to be a leader of one, what the expectations are, what the training will entail, as well as a look at our process (completing the training does not auto-fit you as a GC Leader).
If you’d like to know more, take a look at our Gospel Community Leader Training Overview which lays out some broad expectations and details and then show up this Sunday at 6pm at The 815. Note: the hope is to quickly move these training sessions to someone’s home as soon as we can identify a host. This first session will meet at The 815 out of convenience until we can get all of the details worked out.
